Bad experience
- - Trial: 1 month for 12.09 USD via PayPal.
- - After 30 days, 48.39 USD was charged via PayPal; refunds delayed; a form to bypass PayPal was sent.
I came across an offer from Mad Muscles for personal training plans on the Internet and concluded an agreement to receive a trial training plan for 1 month for the agreed amount of 12.09 USD. The payment was made via PayPal.
After 30 days, my bank informed me that MadMuscles had charged my card an additional 48.39 USD via PayPal!
Following the instructions on the PayPal website, I contacted MadMuscles, stating that I did not agree with this procedure, that I considered it not legal, and that I wanted my money back. I received a response that they were sorry for the situation and that the money would be refunded as soon as they resolved the "technical problem" with the refund via PayPal. Still nothing happened for weeks and I received several emails with similar content. When I was already very angry and I considered their emails to be a mockery, I received a form to send money outside of PayPal directly to my bank account.
According to the message, I was assured to receive the money within 14 days, so I filled out the form and sent it. Another 3 weeks passed and nothing happened, again. "The game of delay" has been going on for a month and a half now.
From the above, it seems that the company is more not about providing functional personalized exercise plans at all, but about a targeted, sophisticated and marketing-developed plan to deceive customers.
Unfortunately, these activities would not have been successful for MudMuscles without the help of PayPal (whether active or passive). Decent banking companies take care that customers' money is safe, I don't know why PayPal knowingly chose the other path.
While, PayPal is repeatedly informed about the unfair activities of MadMuscles via its dissatisfied clients.
I immediately canceled my PayPal account. There are many other decent companies.
Be careful and don't get mad at these companies like I did, and many clients before me...

Disappointed in the continued deducting from my account
- - I unsubscribed but still charged $39.99 monthly.

When I registered for the exercise, I unsubscribed immediately on realizing that my time and resources will not allow me to do the exercises under coaching. I never got to start the exercise even once due to that.
Unfortunately the mad muscles continue to deduct $39.99 from my account every month, I stopped a couple of times from my bank and changed my credit cards as advised by the bank agent. This did not help, they continue to deduct from my hard earned money. I have 4 kids and am a single mom, why are you stealing from me?
I would like them to stop . I've contacted them via 'contact us' but no response yet.
Is there someone who knows how to handle this?

Strong Marketing, Weak Value, No Refund Flexibility

I signed up for MadMuscles after seeing their social media advertising. The marketing is polished, persuasive and professional.
Unfortunately, the actual product does not live up to that standard.
The trial period is reasonably priced and gives you a chance to explore the app. That is what I did. However, the full renewal price of 83.99 EUR for a 90-day plan is, in my opinion, far beyond what the service is worth. The content and functionality simply do not justify that price.
Good marketing does not equal good value.
The bigger issue however, is how renewal and refunds are handled.
If you forget to cancel before the renewal date, there is no flexibility, no understanding, and no customer-oriented resolution. You immediately receive legalistic responses referring to Terms of Service and automatic billing policies. Even if you cancel immediately after the charge and do not use the service further, a refund is not offered. Instead, you are redirected to procedural explanations and formal dispute processes.
Technically, everything may be structured within their terms.
But from a customer perspective, this approach does not reflect a service provider that values fairness or long-term trust. A company that stands behind its product should be confident enough to handle immediate cancellations with discretion, especially when no further use has occurred.
So while this may not qualify as a scam in the strict legal sense, it also does not reflect the standards of a company that prioritizes customer goodwill.
In summary:
Strong advertising.
Average product.
No meaningful refund flexibility.
That combination speaks for itself.

Nutrition and workouts work perfectly together in mad muscles
The nutrition plan in Mad Muscles works really well together with the workouts. It adjusts calories depending on my activity.
Most recipes are quick to make, which is perfect for my schedule. Sometimes the same dishes repeat, but overall the quality is high and I feel much better following it.

From beginner to visible results
I started almost from zero. After subscribing to Mad Muscles, the app created a simple and clear plan based on my fitness level.

No more excuses
The biggest advantage over the gym is that there are almost no excuses left. No its raining, traffic jams, or the gym is too far.
I open the app and start training in 5 minutes. Because of this convenience I train 45 times a week instead of 2 times like before with the gym membership.

Good programming, weak analytics
The strength plan is well structured and I've made solid gains But for someone who wants to analyse their training in depth the data tools are limited. I'd like to see force output over time, volume per muscle group by week, and more detailed progression graphs. The training is there; the data layer needs work.

Hello, I want my program cancelled. I...
- - Wants to cancel the program and get a refund.
- - Cannot access service due to AI verification.
- - Charged $50 for a coach they don't want.
They wanted to give me a big discount and refund my money after I said no. I pointed out that there was no where that said I would have a revolving payment of some $80 every three months.
No comment.
They immediately refunded my money and cancelled my program. Did not like my review I put on pissed customer.
I want my program cancelled. I just now signed up and can even use the contact because of the AI verification under cloud flare or what ever its called.
Also there was no mention of having to pay another $50 for a coach I do not want or need. And the program will not let me move forward without choosing one. I dont need a meal plan or coach I am a big boy at 73.
So rather be aggravated cancel my program and give me my money back immediately.
Thank you if you return my fee. If you dont then I know you are a scam and will act accordingly.

Then when I tried to use the email address on line it was invalid. When I signed up and I paid all of a sudden I got a choose your coach for another $50 and would not let me opt out of it. Then when they relied after Pissed customer I find out they are from Cyphrus not in the US. Then they tell me in their response to go to the help which also can not be accessed. This company in my book is a SCAM. I asked for my money back and I got it will take us a while to review your request. I figure I will have to report them to my bank and close my card. I don’t trust them, neither should you.
